Here's simply the RAREST of all the genuine first release Star Wars one sheets: A BONA FIDE ORIGINAL ROLLED NEVER-FOLDED 1978 National Screen service (NSS) issued Star Wars Style "D"! If you're knowledgeable about film posters, then you already know that the National Screen Service did NOT issue this poster rolled, and so this original example is an anomaly and a true rarity. Just try and find another rolled one for sale anywhere! It's NOT supposed to exist in this form.

The reason this one survived unfolded is that it was personally saved by the foreman of the print shop NSS used. He rescued the poster before it hit the folding machine. I got it from him some thirty odd years later.

He perfectly stored it away in a tube. IT'S MINT/Near MINT ROLLED!

This is a genuine original! The style "D" Star Wars is one of the most famous movie poster originals of all time. Star Wars originally opened in May of 1977 on just 32 theater screens worldwide.

It played continually for more than a year straight to record-breaking crowds in extremely limited release. After that extended "roadshow play, " Fox decided to go WIDE with Star Wars in the summer of 1978, expanding the release into thousands of theaters. There was finally time to execute the poster George Lucas had originally envisioned but couldn't deliver by the films rushed 1977 opening. Two artists, Charles White III and Drew Struzan, were commissioned to execute the style "D" artwork. Huge quantities of FOLDED style "D" 1-sheets were then sent along with the newly made prints of the film around the world, which is why folded versions are very common - NOT THIS ROLLED ONE!

Like I said, try and find another available ANYWHERE! This is an important poster to own. If you are an advanced Star Wars collector, or, just a collector of vintage rarities. Only a TINY handful of NSS originals in rolled condition have surfaced in over 35 years! I'm THE only person in the world that can say that.

This rolled version of the legendary "D" poster is rarer than older original one-sheets like Forbidden Planet and Day the Earth Stood Still! This one is in top-notch condition, and has been perfectly stored FLAT between acid free paper since I got it.
