RARE & IMPORTANT STAR WARS! Here's one of the most interesting and difficult to find original 1970's posters on Star Wars - A 1978 PENDULUM PRESS CLASSROOM FILMSTRIP POSTER! Star Wars broke on May 25, 1977 in only 32 theaters worldwide.

Within days of that release the film became a viral word-of-mouth sensation around the world with everybody wanting to see it. It remained in limited release for more than a year straight, spawning record business and much talked about long waiting lines around those few dozen cinemas.

While all this was happening, Pendulum Press and Lucasfilm created a special comic book and filmstrip teaching kit to coincide with the coming school year that was to follow a a massive widespread release of the film in the summer of 1978. Pendulum Press issued these kits to educators interested in using pop culture to motivate their students. Though each kit contained five read-along comic books, ONLY ONE POSTER PER KIT was issued (see photo #2). I've posted a scan from the original advertising brochure that clearly lays out what the kit is and the contents involved with it (SHOWN FOR REFERENCE ONLY - Brochure spread NOT INCLUDED in sale with poster).

Subsequently, very few of these posters survived. This is one of them! The poster is in SOLID NearMINT/MINT ORIGINAL UNRESTORED CONDITION!
